Man Ray re-imagined. Photography influenced by the ideas of Surrealism

Experimental free image editing by studio Skripka of a photographic portrait of the Portugese poet Fernando Pessoa. This editing contradicts the basic logic of  the classic medium photography, is therefore declared absurd by the realists, but triumphantly proclaimed successful for the surrealistic eye. The eye that sees things that do not seem to be there, beyond the perceptible.

Look into my eyes

Funny bookcover of Italian edition of the novel entitled Felliní’s shoes by the author Judith Katzir, Israel.

the eye and design

The eye itself is a splendid image that can be used for example as part of a design for book covers. The Great American Virtuoso Photographer Duan Michals shows here how it can be done. In a close-up separated from the face. By the way I like his handwriting on the cover, so much more personal than any kind of lettertype can create.

Right the front-cover, left the back. Design bookcover D. Michals himself.
